77 GRECO Barney Kessel Japan Fujigen Gakki Replica Ask
Here we have a wonderful example of what Japanese craftsmanship during the LAWSUIT era in the late 1970's Top Japanese factories were producing real quality as they set out to build some of the finest guitars in the world at an affordable price point . This still holds true today some have really stood the test of time have a good look at this one. OK This is an obvious Replica in this of the Gibson signature model named for the great Barney Kessel Jazzman. **** THIS IS NOT A GIBSON GUITAR.**** This is one of THE closest of the BK Replicas from Japan to the original Gibson BK specifications and is also made from some very beautiful quality grade AAA figured maple woods not often seen on this particular replica model from mostly Matsumoku camp this one being a bit unique in that it is from Greco this example traces back to the early Fugigen Gakki factory and is stunningly beautiful to this day some 40 years later today the color is still just as vivid and shinny like glass
it has several small doinks but non take away from this vintage beauty just with lovely real patina and vibe just as the original old Gibson this example looks vintage correct. Its Greco logo long ago replaced with a real mother of pearl Gibson inlay and professionally installed it shows no tell tail sign of being anything but original.. very cool lawsuit era Japanese Greco Jazz box... RARE FIND she is in deed. The PAF type Vintage pickups sound great and are the originals I'm told same as many Ibanez used and Greco's and a few other used there sounds like Super 70's which were made by Maxon back in the day... highly sought after now days too... this one is in SUPER NICE shape its neck is the very slim profile 3 piece with mahogany center construction just the same as old Gibson's BK model ( pre 1970 style = this one has NO VOLUTE just like the early pre 1970 Gibson versions, this example also has the famous Black " Stinger " on back of the headstock, with a Slim C profile width is 1-9/16ths" at the nut this has a very fast feel for EZ lightning fast jazz runs also the fingerboard appears to be rich Brazilian Jacaranda Rosewood as the inlays are also made of cellulose nitrate just like the old BK Gibsons please see the pics. The original bridge was upgraded to a very high quality Gibson an it is an inlayed in mother of pearl bridge detail as well , the tuners were also upgraded in the past with a nice set of Grover roto's in gold its was done some years ago along with the headstock inlay transformation. Taken in on a partial trade for another Japanese vintage Ibanez L-5 we had in we are very pleased at JVGuitars to present this beauty she has been out of circulation for over 37 years by the original adult owner and has been well cared for in its past.Of course this is not a new guitar not is it mint it does have genuine wear - patina of a real vintage guitar with a few minor chips that have occurred over time from use but never abused and shows overall very nicely and is in better than average for this age and model all & all an easy 8.65 /10 very good - excellent vintage rate. What you see is what you get this IS the guitar in the pictures that you will receive. This is the quintessential Barney Kessel lawsuit guitar for your playing pleasure.
