Its Sound is truly WELL beyond its price point someone will be very pleased. aprox..1972-74 YAMAHA FG160 WOW! . ...This is a Gorgeous MARTIN style REPLICA and for the money compares very well to the original in quality materials used..sweet vintage SPRUCE TOP now wonderfully ambered in color from age just too cool, The Back - Sides & Neck are all made from choice AAA Mahogany just what you would expect from an expensive Martin or Gibson...only you would expect to pay much more for one of those , but this is a rare early non "Nippon Gakki" model with the Red Label from Korea.. These early issue Red Label Guitars from Korea utilize the very same materials that were made in Japan. These components were used under strict quality control and 100% assembled in Korea from the very same vintage wood - components & parts as the Japan made Yamaha's. We have had many of these Red Labeled Yamaha's in the 180's & 160's currently and over the years I see up close and in person the very high grade AA mahogany neck s sides & back & the same nice nickel tuners & hardware the very same one piece solid neck no scarf joint at the back of the headstock area like the later Korean & Chinese examples ... This era exhibits just the same just as nice woods as those Japanese big dollar players but " SOME" not all are hidden treasures and are still a real bargain today when compared to the Japanese Red Label versions or a Martin or even Japan made models of this quality...fit & finish & the materials on this guitar are very nice! This guitar does not take the back seat to the Red Label Nippon Gakki version at all. The action is very EZ to play and the TONE is simply wonderful..The Condition is very good++ to excellent vintage it is not mint, and it is not beat..it has natural minor play wear and dings associated with a well loved and played quality guitar it has all the rich patina now of a true vintage acoustic and is quite beautiful in its own right. This guitar has a good history of care its a California guitar where the climate is stable and quite favorable to guitars and was adult owned & loved. This guitar has the preferable a nice MEATY U Shaped Premium Mahogany one piece solid NECK, the frets are still good, The Rosewood is gorgeous too it looks to be Premium grade as well..You will not be disappointed with this guitar at this price the sound is rich like a an expensive $1,000+ guitar, big tone ...no repairs, structural damage..It comes with a new set of Martin strings installed ready to play out of the box. TRULY STUNNING, SEE MORE ... This baby is nice and sweet in person...very nice, , with a classic MARTIN LIKE feel & Sweet-Tone that simply is very hard to beat. The neck is STRAIGHT and the frets are fine w/plenty of life left, this baby plays real nice she stays in tune very well.. .nice workmanship & choice select materials used....You will not be disappointed with this FINE YAMAHA FG160 guitar with NICE TONE & SOUND...its a real Great Player ....This guitars condition is rated at a 8+ Very good+ or better and is very good to excellent condition only a few very minor dings can be seen. this is a real Vintage guitar" and as you can see its in Gorgeous shape!. no known problems cracks-breaks-repairs with no other known issues at all. Good Old Wood is best!...This example is the best of and has very nicely mellowed with age to a golden amber High Grade Spruce Top perfection to the Brazilian Rosewood back & Fretboard to Premium Mahogany neck wood this guitar screams out Japanese High Quality Workmanship using World Class Materials!!!....In this time period in Japan several factories set out to build the best guitars in the world...these are among the best of the best "law suit" model era. We have had two identical guitars to this one you see her one was a 72 Tama the other was a 74 Alvarez Yairi 5060 and now, See the Tuners and the Diamond Volute on the back of the neck...This guitar is from 1972 and is about 34+ years old and is in AMAZING condition...Gorgeous Hand work fit & finish. Great Rich Exotic Woods used in the entire construction of this guitar and does absolutely project its amazing resonant tone. The tone is rich and the sound is powerful and it plays very nicely with minimal play wear to frets or wood it is in very good-excellent condition in performance and cosmetics. Japans best...This guitar is RARE and not many of these have survived the decades since they was built. This is exactly like the early 70's Tama another rare and more expensive one from the Ibanez Factory we had from this same time period it was built exactly the same same woods & craftsmanship and NECK's Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with real mother of pearl as this Aria has...same bridge, same tuners...same Killer SOUND!...the Tama was also clean and it sold for $1650....You can own the very same guitar here in this Aria for considerably less, the very same guitar, both are rare.
This guitar comes with a free vintage soft shell case a hard shell case is also available for an additional cost from $75-$125

Here we have old "3-hole" this is another great Japanese Vintage Guitar! this one is over 40 years old wow! ...its wonderfully aged woods contribute to its rich great sound... this example is one of the greatest Martin style Copies from one of the finest "law Suit" Acoustic instrument builders of Japan Yamaha Nippon Gakki...This model is the very popular FG-140 RED LABEL ....JUST IN!...so more info soon to come please see the detailed pics of this guitar
for a link to many more pictures ( 40 ) or more from every angle
Very good- excellent condition
If your wondering why we call this one "3-hole" is because someone in its past life had an electric pickup of some type and it came to us with 3 tinny holes in the top... we have since filled the 3-tiny holes one on upper treble bout and 2 below the rosewood bridge... we filled & clear coated so its all solid and is very hard to see but are their also a fine hairline crack threw the finish exists at the bottom of the neck the original owner said its been their more than 20 years and has not changed and is solid...if wanted after sale for free at your request fill sand it and fill with lacquer and sand and buff smooth I expect that would do the trick to cosmetically improve the look of that but its really fine as is... What is rare about this oldie but goodie its all original and even has the original gold lined Yamaha logo Hard shell case in pretty respectable shape too...see the extra pics ( I will have a link to those pics posted later ) for those details... Great sound and pretty EZ to play too I just Cleaned it to remove the grime but leave all the original patina and also dehydrated the woods and she drank it up and after drying we finished it of with a fresh coat of wax finish was applied the woods still shine like a shinny new dime.. great old guitar.. JVG Rated in Very good Original Vintage condition with its share of natural play ware visible upon closest inspection of the neck width is 1-3/4 @ nut and the action is set good at 3-16ths @ 12th fret.. the fretboard and frets still playing well no need for a refret some fret indentations yes but its still plays just fine at 80+%, top has aged naturally with nice Patina now and has several fine finish cracks etc..same as a well loved and played 40+ year old Martin would have at several thousand dollars less than a 40+ year old martin. This guitar has been restrung with New Martin Marquis Strings and sounds great...This one you have the option of buying an original vintage Yamaha Hard Shell Case..these cases are rare and hard to find now the handle was warn and has a replacement quick fix and it works perfectly...just $69.00 additional

THE MARK OF QUALITY CIMAR Quality Produced under Strict Quality Control by IBANEZ "Made in Japan" Serial # 82110013k ... 1st 2 digits 82 that's the year...now not all Japanese Ibanez old guitars are so great not at all ..many were very low end guitars we saw in the 60's & 70's as a kid myself most were junk or we called them toys.. now that's not true for all of them though I can honestly say that... This is not a cheap guitar nor is it built cheaply ..this example was one of the good impressive one's they used beautiful grade woods on... This particular example it has a Strikingly beautiful straight grained Sitka Spruce Top ... it has ambered nicely now naturally with it's great patina created over the last 29 years . ya don't get that with a new Ibanez or even dare I say Martin with those white looking spruce top "yuck on thanks"... sorry back to this one ... The back sides & neck are all gorgeously grained AA higher grade Mahogany the fingerboard is dark Indian Rosewood with an ebony bridge..even the Original string Pins are aged beautifully amber tipped... Here we have another Vintage Japanese GREAT find this example a beautiful pretty much exact copy of a vntage Martin D-45 ... this is a very High Quality built Lawsuit era Aria Pro II Model AW40. Made in Japan. From information on the Internet concerning dating these, the guitar's serial number would lead to 1976 manufacture. However, I could not find the AW40 model cataloged until the late 70's... but its a 76.. is consistent with all others. THIS is one beautiful guitar! it exudes fine detailed craftsmanship this was Aria's flagship dreadnought of this time period with D41-ish features. From an original vintage Aria catalog, AW40 features include: "Dreadnought sized, Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, bridge fingerboard and veneer headstock overlay with MOP logo, Marquetry Purfling" ( Top looks to be solid with the sides & back appears to me to be laminated )The catalog can be viewed at matsumoku.org, a site that deals with the history of Matsumoku made instruments like Aria, Electra and others. This guitar has the Martin classic snowflake mother of pearl inlays, abalone binding and rosette, and fully bound headstock and gorgeous rosewood fingerboard. Headstock also has a Rosewood overlay. The bookmatched rosewood on the back side is especially easy on the eyes. The guitar is all original with no repairs and with original tuning keys. It is in JVG Rated condition as excellent used vintage 8.8/10 WoW...its 35 years old and the woods have opened up now like fine wine the tone is richer & mellowed as only time can provide. No cracks or repairs ever. It plays very well with good action and has a nice warm rich tone. The Neck is arrow straight. Frets have minimal wear with no buzzing anywhere on the fingerboard....this is the one!

Here we are proud to have in stock today is a Cool one she's pretty rare too its a real vintage guitar its actually 42year old in fact. This is a great old Vintage Goya Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar by CF Martin & company. This guitar was built in the early 1970s in Japan when Martin had thought that it was a good way to address the Japanese high quality lower priced Japanese guitars cutting into their bottom line so Martin commissioned Goya of Japan to build their competitive to the US line "import" line ( Japan because no other country at that time was building anything close to the high quality guitars like Japan was making " China , India, Twain was not even a consideration Japan was in another league obviously to those countries... so Goya was commissioned back in the day this pre dates Sigma Japan... This was built durring the time frame when the Japanes builders had some of the best quality woods available to them and were setting out to show the world what they could really do. This is a great example with both fine quality qoods used from the high grade mahogany to the solid spruce top to the rich dark Brazilian rosewood looking fingerboards they selected wow impressive work...Kept in great shape all these years 42 years see the pics it looks more like its 3 years old then 42... here today for a song we believe this example was built in Nagoya by the great Terada, that is pretty much the Custom shop builders in Japan they are responsible for the GB10 George Benson Ibanez line, They made the high end Ibanez Artists, The Gretch reissues, some other fine models as well as their own Tereda guitars. On to this baby The top is book matched SOLID AAA Spruce and the sides and back are mahogany, probably laminated but they seam to match?. either way *AWESOME* The SB model has a beautiful transparent cherry sunburst finish that is still so glossy looking it can pass for much newer but its 36 years old!. The Neck is also solid AAA mahogany with a beautiful rich looking rosewood fingerboard may be Brazilian Rosewood . The neck is RARE with a nicely v shaped which feels really good to me I think you'll be please with the feel as well. Setup done by our in house luthier & plays like butta now with a new set of acoustic Martin 11's, a $150 value. Now how ya gonna beat that! .

: This vintage YAMAHA is one of the greats folks and here for your serious consideration today at Joe's Vintage Guitars.... This is the Classic Vintage Yamaha FG-200 - Nippon Gakki body seems the same specs as the famous FG180...hummm? interesting
She's been lovingly played for nearly 40 years, its beautifully aged now with a great feel & patina only found on real vintage guitars of this age and caliber. This guitar really has nicely opened up over the past 40 years and you just don't get booming bassy tone like this one with a new guitar thats for sure. This example is not mint but is beautiful in its own right, it does have a few nicks, dings and wear but nothing really bad at all really she just looks the part of the 40 year old Martin D28 vintage guitsr. A lot of guitar for not a lot of cash...
Vintage aint goin down..get her at a great price today! Let me know...thanks for your interest, Joe
email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
This is an early one from the Nippon Gakki plant and has a surprising boom even for or a 200 same as our great old red lable FG180 for that matter with no real decernable diference.
I cannot find a serial number but is believed to be late 60's - early 70's
This old girl has Excellent low end sound!!! and tone on this guitar is wonderful - it really booms!
Average vintage wear wich includes minor pick wear, scratches dents & dings for an old vintageguitar. but no cracks to be found, straight neck, trussrod is functioning properly, very good frets still playing well all the way up & down the fingerboard with no funny buzzes or dead spots...
Frets 1 - 5 ( cowboy cord area )have medium play wear but still plenty of life remaining no problemo.
action is very good at 3/32 1st E string @ 12th fret.
Tuners are the original and in excellent working order.
Bridge plate is securely fastened to top.
We have just as a precationary installed A PlateMate brass plate has now been installed to any prevent further wear to bridge plate which is common among these vintage guitars. This brass plate has also contributed to its big booming tone now is even a more rich sounding competitor to a vintage Martin D-28... FRESH SET UP...with Martin Bone & Saddle... this guitar is a wonderfull fun guitar to play lots of bang for the buck factor here..
This guitar is overall a very solid well built guitar that is standing the test of time it also is a great sounding vintage guitar that plays very nicely.
Ya can't go wrong with this wonderful vintage Yamaha FG Nippon Gakki guitar
Has a new bone saddle and Martin Silk Steel strings.
No case included but will protect and properly package for shipping.
PlateMate product works very well and is easily removed if desired. To my ear it enhanced this boom-box's sound quality and is described by the manufacturer as follows:
If you want to protect and enhance the sound and tones and balance out string volume of your acoustic guitar, Mitchels Plate Mate is the way to go. Mitchels Plate Mate is a small piece of brass that is applied without using or altering of tools, and is installed as fast as you can change a set of strings. This was invented and patend mainly to prevent damage caused by ball-end strings on the acoustic guitars bridge plate, it is also proven to enhance volume, tones, and balances out string volume by one of the best acoustic guitar makers in the world. Mitchels Plate Mate will protect your guitar from ball-end strings pulling up threw the bridge plate and possibly cracking the bridge or pulling the bridge off the top of your guitar which would be a very expensive repair bill. It also protects your bridge pins, and saddle by making the string windings stay down in the string holes where they belong. I have used Mitchels Plate Mate in guitars priced from $100 to $50,000 it doesnt matter the price just protect your prized posetion or investment.

Here we have a well made in Japan kinda rare to see these vintage Fender Japanese acoustics now days... interesting well built and is still beauty ..its all mahogany body & neck are very well constructed , offering good cross braced body ala D-18/28 seems to be awfully similar?..to my vintage Yamaha FG180 or 200 Nippon Gakki.....that is to say pretty darn nice!.. almost the same guitar but for the Fender's more stylistic headstock top shape that differs from the vintage Yamaha... this was clearly built for Fender as there import in those days Japan offered more competitive pricing to us manufactures to produce there line...this offering is really quite a nice guitar in its own right... so now its nicely aged well over the years..nice ring tone to it now, its very good overall condition, but sometime in its past history it received a doink to the binding on the back side lower bout a binding touch up repair has been done ...to the back lower bout and is about a foot long area -replaced ..its on the back bottom like I said so its really out of sight and is out of mind the remainder of bindings are otherwise 100% very nice beautiful actually nice looking tortious style..the rest the body has a few nicks or scars not to bad looking though a real vintage Vibe to it with no major cracks or warpage the bridge & top are tight and flat so its a very sound playing instrument, 1 changed tuner. The minor abraiions had been lacquer filled to preserve the original finish integrity ..we just built up low spots with matching lacquer to level off to prevent further degradation pealing or chipping those areas have been french polished built up and then excess has been removed elsewhere leaving only the low spots filled then we polished to gloss and well it looks ... pretty darn GOOD now.. she's preserved & fully ready for another 30 years of play... this example has a NICE NECK and she plays great....Worth preserving?...I think so See pics please... This guitar has no abrasions wood cracks or issues at all just a vintage guitar thats surprisingly such a fine player...action is good not too high at all and it still has room to lower the saddle or nut even more you so the neck set is very good for many years no worries..its a nice sounding & playing 25 years old vintage Japanese guitar...and is overall a nice looking vintage example..stays in tune nicely and is a joy to play... nice vintage Japanese guitar this guitar is JVG Rated: 8.5/10 very good used guitar as described ...still after 25 years it looks & plays good.
Interested in this beauty let me know..Thanks for looking, Joe JVGuitars@gmail.com

Also two hard to see fine line impact top finish 3-to 4" long hairline cracks ...these I french polished into the opening and buffed off leaving only fine line fill to preserve integrity of the original finish also 2 very small nicks on top were filled with aged clear lacquer droplet too and buffed off...top is in excellent vintage condition otherwise.

We are very proud to present to you a pleasant surprise I must say from way back when folks this is prime Time beginning of that Golden Era of some of the GREATEST QUALITY Acoustic guitar that FENDER ever had the smarts to
Import… that’s right these are Japanese crafted beauty’s . Built back in the day when Japan had the economy riding high while US guitar builders were getting bought out by business folks not guitar builders and US economy was in the tanker just a little brief history reminder… Fender & Gibson were under the gun to cut costs and re-structure if they wanted to stay alive and that they did…. CBS , Norlin…. And others cut back on the high quality woods they once enjoyed and relied upon the reputation the US had for making great guitars basically reputation from the late 50’s – early 60’s
To about 68-69 or so…. Then quality went down no doubt….
Right then it was prime time for Japan Luthiers to strike and they did…they stepped up the quality from the funny toy grade guitars we saw here in the states back when I was a kid you could get a decent cute player electric guitar at the Pawn shop in about 1965 for about $69.00 in fact my dad bought my 1st electric guitar there for $69.00 … I loved it—it was a “ KENT” and it sounded very good threw my Silvertone amp….. ..Kent is a offspring of Greco which is a factory behind making many brands buildby Fujigen Gekki…. Ok what this Fender beauty traces back to the great FujiGen Gakki in 1974 according to its serial number… making this beautifully preserved SOLID TOP Vintage Japanese guitars 40 years old a true vintage guitar in its own right. It was during the time when this guitar was built that the Japanese Luthiers set out to make some of the most righteous guitars period… fit – finish - workmanship & materials used are the good stuff folks….. This full size Dreadnought Acoustic guitar is a replica of the
Martin designed D-28 known to be one of the finest most prolific designs the US Martin & co ever produced. This Fender F310 is of a High Quality example, The top is Solid Spruce straight grained with some nice figure and wow it has 40 years of patina to its color and finish and overall vintage appeal is
Very strong… I was drawn to this example it sounds deep and rich and complex with an excellent volume
And its highs ring threw when cording and finger picking , This guitars Back & sides are true to the masterful D-28 desigh …. High quality ROSEWOOD just beautifully grained see the pics for more detail
Its absolutely beautiful back – sides are all east Indian Rosewood the fingerboard may be Brazilian Rosewood by its looksa very high grade non theless, the bridge appears to be Ebony wood….. the Bridge is nice and flat to its top which is also nice and straight, action is very good medium low and adjustable.
The top has a couple of minor doinks see the pics not bad at all and certainly nothing remotely enough to detour from its vintage Gorgeous looks , no cracks anywhere found , bindings are very food, overall this guitar is an EXTREMLY CLEAN example aside from the afore mentioned .
This guitar is in top Vintage used condition and is easily a 9//10
Fit and finish I suggest this was built but a high level Journeyman and can compete or compare with
A nice vintage Yairi or Morris or Gibson or Martin for that matter….
SOLD OUT: This guitar is very familiar to me as I have had other guitars from another Famous Japanese guitar maker
That was known to make this very guitar already I believe this to have been made by those responsible for the Takamine or Mountain ands Tak made for Washburn import, needless to say this is a high quality
Well built Japanese copy of the Martin D-19 and is Identical to the Takamine F320.
This example was well crafted over 32 years ago making this a true vintage guitar based on the classic These were quite well constructed by any standard fit and finish is excellent typical of this era Japanese crafted and were made with very nice woods too... The top on this guitar is Solid Spruce and is nicely figured and the back sides and neck are all Mahogany, The fingerboard = bridge & head-stock front overlay is rosewood. This combination is know for some sweet mellow tone & good volume...this example is in above average vintage condition its finish still shines like glass and with only a few minor doinks and with its true 32+ years of well taken care of age its natural patina is very nice in deed.
This guitar has the 1-11/16ths nut width it’s a comfortable medium profile neck and it plays with ease and has good action, neck is straight with correct relief and frets are still good at 88%. Tuners are original and are working well, no splits or cracks warps or twists or issues of that nature structural integrity is excellent. Volume is very good, tone is sweet, this makes for a very good playing guitar
That sounds great and is very enjoyable all round for the player. Vintage tone!
.. thanks for your interest if wanted you can contact Joe at firstname.lastname@example.org .

Wonderful Japanese quality vintage guitar.
This is a beautiful example of a 34 year old Japanese crafted Ibanez
acoustic guitar that has the tone and the beauty, Love the Sunburst finish on this guitar that did a beautiful job with the thin Poly finish it stands up to the test of time and still shines like glass today just have a good look. It has a Spruce top… cant tell because of the sunburst if its solid or not but will assume its laminated…. Back – Sides & neck are all very nice grade Mahogany. Fit & finish as good as a $2000 guitar of today but this beauty has well aged woods now being well over 33 years old you could spend 3 x times the money and not get a better vintage guitar . The tone is surprisingly rich and with good volume it makes an excellent strumming or fingerpicking guitar. Its playing string action is very good making it a breeze to play and fun. The neck is real nice substantial and a medium profile with a soft V it feels like a vintage Guild from the 1960's ... nice job Ibanez!...Its in very good vintage condition too with several minor doinks to its top and a couple minor on the back and so on but overall its in very good condition both structurally & cosmetically and looks very good overall. The neck's frets are still good and fingerboard and frets have been lightly polished as has the entir guitar cleaned hydrated and polished and just look at the results, a new Martin bone nut has just been fit & installed as well as new Martin Marquis 80/20 Bronze light gauge strings, nicely setup to play very well like a much more expensive guitar now. Original tuners are doing a great job to this day some 34+ years later... Here is a very good Japanese Vintage Guitar of quality for a very good price too, She is not new or mint of course it has doinks and just a couple of fine hairline checks in its top I did not see at first its very hard to see but they are not wood cracks just fine hairlines to the finish and of no structural consequence what so ever. This guitar Plays and sounds very well and will make someone very happy its condition is JVG rated at easily 8.5/10 very good vintage, neck is
straight without cracks fit and finish and workmanship are all in the excellent range. Great Japanese guitar for a great price…
The 1980 Ibanez V300 TV, crafted in Japan over 33 years ago. This guitar plays GREAT!
Here we have another great vintage Takamine this one is a timeless classic recreation of the trusty and also great sounding Martin D-17 , this fine Takamine F349 example was well crafted in Japan nearly 24 years ago. This guitar is a very good++ vintage Japanese guitar and has been well maintained and plays amazingly with great low action still to this day all these years later.
Its made of all Mahogany( other than rosewood fingerboard & bridge ) that is a high grade solid Mahogany neck it really has a nice substantial feel to its medium profile with a 1-11/16ths width at the nut, The sound box is also ALL Mahogany and it offers a nice rich vintage tone one might expect from the company Takamine has copied in this case the Martin D-17 directly, This example’s cosmetic integrity its fit and finish to this day is still pretty nice not exactly like new vintage but is JVG rated at very good with NO major cracks at all and NO finish checking = none – . she did have some small paint chips here and there that we easily matched with clear mahogany stain lacquer applied with a brush tip to the spots only and one spot on the lower treble bout where 3 discolor spots were ( cold be from factory ) it looked original anyway I touched that up a bit as well later I buffed the touch ups back she looks much better now and this will also help to preserve its original finish integrity as well as keeping up her beauty. Great low and playing action on this one it really plays with ease
Take a good look she still shines like glass and her sound is clear and the volume is very good, and tone is vintage sweet from its well
Good and well aged tone woods attribute to making this guitar sound as good as she does. This F349 model is a full size Dreadnought as and she is faithful in its shape & size of the vintage Martin D-17 it copies other than its original design Takamine headstock shape… a very cool D-17 guitar, its 23+ years it’s obviously not new or mint but is surely vintage beautiful with its age and genuine warmth & patina and yes a few minor doinks but nothing to detract from its overall appeal.
Please look her over well feel free to ask any questions.
This is a nice players guitar and is sure to please. It is JVG Rated 8.5/10 very good+ Vintage used condition. WYSIWYG
Amazing workmanship fit & finish is excellent.
Here we have a very impressive Exotic Tone woods Acoustic guitar this is a sweet sounding BASS BOOMER she's also electrified Hidden by a clean install Piezo pickup and the output jack is at the strap end pin no added holes in body you don't know its there but ready when you are / very nice touch.. This is a great high end classic Martin D-45 copy from 1976 Aria Matsumoku factory about 38 years back in the prime Law-suit days made back in 1976 in the midst of the Japanese Golden Era when the Japanese guitar company's really decided to step it up big time in the quality department and give the American guitar greats competition and a real run for there money as they say. Check out some of our other Aria guitars sometime they are impressively built and workmanship is as good as the big US or nicer than in the 1970's US steppend it back up in the 80's but durring the 70's.... They set out to build some of the finest quality guitars fit & finish wise and these series really stepped it up in the detail such as all the fine inlay seen classic abalone perfiling with intricate detail inlay work multi bindings and so on close attention to accuracy bringing a professional grade pro worthy instrument when new...that was nearly 40 years ago its hard to believe but time has been kind to this beauty she's not new of course she's a real vintage guitar and it has some minor nicks and doinks but none take away from its beauty or playability or its great tone. This guitar is JVG condition rated conservatively at very good used vintage condition easily 8.8/10 cosmetics tone-9/10 EZ play -9/10. The 3- piece exotic Brazzilian rosewood is as beautiful as any
vintage Martin D-35,with the wonderful 3 piece back then adding the higher end touch to the top of a D-41 or D45 just unique. The
action on this baby is nice and low, to is also Gorgeously figured Sitka Spruce with real nice color and bear claw figure this is my favorite top oh ya its a solid top and is crack free... she enjoys the classic Martin x bracing and its top isnice and flat and the bridge is nice and flat to the top paper will not pass beneath it.The neck is straight and excellent also no sign of ever cracking where meeting the body it has a good full feel- it feels great in the hands with its nice medium profile not to fat - not to thin at- 1-11/16ths nut width. The Fingerboard is rich looking Jacaranda and is in excellent condition it has Mother of pearl snow flake inlays, its frets are medium vintage and are also very good - excellent with many years left yet before a re-fret is needed.... this is my favorite neck made of high grade beautifully grained Mahogany and it has the classic Martin design Diamond Volute on back a feature of the high end vintage dreadnought often seen on the D-28 & up models from Martin. This Vintage Aria PW60 plays wonderfully and its volume is impressive combined with its EZ playing action feel make this guitar a pleasure to play and you will not want to put it down for hours... Looking for Vintage - Exotic woods - Very good condition - EZ to Play - Ez on the eyes beauty?.......This is the one! Contact Joe today before she's gone.... email@example.com. .
Ok I know Hondo? .... But this is a good one folks its got a lot going for it really have a closer look, its actually built well it is a beautiful vintage guitar in its own right its condition and patina good looks good sound and easy playability make it an excellent entry or back up choice into vintage guitars, The Top appears to be solid 2 piece center seam spruce top you see grain going from top to bottom with really beautiful straight grain with flame type figuring that is surprising on a Hondo it's unique in that feature and it has that patina I love it caught my eye big time as I got close I couldn't believe it was a Hondo, it's logo has that same font as old Martin & Takamine used this one has the look and feel, but it's action was a little off spec , so I fixed all that it has great action now it's neck set and angle was excellent and I ended up changing its nut & saddle out for Martin born nut & saddle set and a new set of 80/20 strings, this guitar has good volume and sweet tone it rings clear and true with good intonation. It's in very good to excellent vintage condition, it's body & neck has no cracks , no finish checking and still shines like glass it's beautiful just have a look, it's not new or mint it has a couple drinks on its top and a couple on its back too but besides those it's exceptional vintage and plays easy with good low action with plenty of saddle left to lower more down the line of ever needed it's set up to meet or exceed Martin specs for playability.
This is a lot of vintage guitar for this kind of price WOW! .

Sorry it has sold: Here we have a rather nice rare vintage 1970 Yairi & Son Classical acoustic guitar
It's Label reads...
Hand Crafted in Japan by Yairi & Son
Model # 300
Serial # 177
Pretty darn low serial number 1970 remember she's 45 years old!
Condition overall is very good - excellent used / vintage
Not new or mint of course... Regarding its build quality
She exhibits beautiful workmanship and superior materials
Aged woods of over 30+ years old in 1970 when it was built!
Tone-Woods now are in the 75 year range on this example looks like a
Vintage masterpiece with its patina and look and feel I love these oldies funny thing is It still shines like glass to, amazing really when you think about it.
This guitar has very good deep base tone and excellent volume and plays easily and comfortably the neck is nice and big 2" at the nut nice and wide feel to it. The neck is made of a high grade mahogany see pics, back and sides are also beautiful mahogany, with black or very dark brown bindings for a very classic look, the on the business end she has a wonderful quality solid spruce top with lots of bear claw figuring a really nice sound box it projects very well in deed... As you look at its back side in its entirety top to bottom it's hard to find a blemish I'm sure there are a few minors but it's really looking very clean and with a surprisingly shiny original finish... The front the headstock is pretty clean as well!...notice a bone nut has been fit, frets show little to no wear what so ever more than 90% remaining fret life, the fingerboard shows a little play action remember it's a 1970! ... The top as several chips and drinks and I have addressed them a touch up lacquer pen and just dabbed the tiny chip to prevent further chipping there it as a result after I polished it up turned out pretty darn good looking too,
This guitar came to us as a partial trade with its bridge pulled nearly off by a ding dong previous owner that put regular gauge dred heavy gauge strings on it for long term and it lifted off in time, I removed all that cleaned up the woods & prepped it for a new vintage period correct Jacaranda rosewood classical bridge and glued it with hide glue clamping it up for 2 weeks & set her up with a bone nut & saddle and a new set of Dean Markley strings... This beauty comes with its original hard shell case black Tolex with a plush Marigold lining one bad latch but still functions well good hinges and handle so it's still ok. This is rock solid now as the Yairi & Son label says use only nylon strings. If you just use what Yairi suggested this would have never happened not Yairi's fault just the wild eyed idea gone wrong. Anyways she's back in action and sounding better than ever so if you like these old Yairi & Son classical guitars this may be a good consideration for you....
Let me know if you likeeee.

Fingerboard looks to be Ebony or ebonized rosewood, ebony bridge, Jacaranda Brazilian Rosewood 2 piece back and sides and headstock overlay, guitar has been cleaned and polished, frets good 92% and polished minimal wear and are considered excellent, neck has a meaty medium profile feel, Tuners are Grovers an all Mahogany neck looks like Honduran Mahogany grain. This guitar sounds loud and sweet. We just set her up with new BONE Nut & compensated Saddle and New Martin 80/20 Bronze strings 11's, Plays with ease very pleasing to play she Rings like a bell!.
Lawsuit Takamine F375s
Hand built in Japan and still in excellent vintage condition!
Build type is Rare Exotic Tone woods series Jacaranda Brazilian Rosewood back-sides-fingerboard & headstock overlay JUST Gorgeous. Its workmanship is really top shelf by any standards, We installed and set up with Martin Marquis 80/20 strings 12's, as well as setting this guitar up with a New bone nut & saddle, Condition is very good with a few minor hard to see scratches on its back you have to look closely sometimes at an angel ( clear coat only not threw to wood ) general play here and there as any 37 year old guitar that has been played would get... dinks and such but nothing major to detract from its obvious outward beauty, This example has an excellent neck its 1-11/16th's at the bone nut, fingerboard is very good as are the frets at 90%, its straight and has a nice meaty feel, has the Martin design detail of the Diamond Volute on back, original tuners are excellent as well, a warm vintage vibe to this 37 year old vintage Gem. Tone is rich with good volume she Sings well!!! JVG Rated 9/10 higher if it wasn't for the few minor clear coat scratches in its clear coat not to the wood that I can see more like swirls and such may be possible to fine grade 3000 wet sand and polish out its possible if it doesn't sell soon when I get the chance I'll do it, its a commitment because it may not sand out alone it may require a few thin clear lacquer applied and buffed out to cure it forever if so a guitar of this caliber deserves the attention.. ( the price will go up after I do that work ) and that really doesn't have to be done to make this guitar just very good -excellent vintage it would bring it very close to mint!.... aside from the few minor scuffs this guitar still qualifies as vintage excellent right now, just thought I would point those out. So to be clear about this listing the way you see it now is the way it is offered. Its a F375s and not the EF375s yet This guitar has a factory installed transducer type pickup installed and it sounds wonderful, Its said to have been installed by original owner in Tokyo by Takamine shop its a very clean job I call it CLEAN where they do not make extra unnecessary holes for output jack instead they use the END PIN hole and its a combination strap pin and or output jack, So this guitar is either Acoustic or Electric really nice in deed in SUPER Condition well above average. This beautiful instrument comes with its original hard shell case it to is in very good vintage condition its heavy duty molded type with plush black interior all functional fully. This is the total package.

SOLD OUT.New Arrival She's hear folks.....and wow We are very proud to present to you this wonderful & RARE Vintage Tama 3561 Herringbone Drednaught . If you haven't heard of Tama guitars don't worry your not alone ... Tama lives today as strong as ever but its a DRUM company all owned by Ibanez ... Ibanez set out in 74 to compete with other master builders in Japan like Yairi at Alvarez, So Ibanez came up with this high end Tama brand like Toyota came up with Lexus right...same here there High end division and they launched TAMA Guitars in 1974 and threw 1976 made some of the finest built Japanese high end guitars but they were ultimately loosing money so put an end to the high end Tama guitars in 1976... it was rather abrupt...these fine Tama guitars are now one of the most revered and are among the least produced in those years in few numbers and 40 years later it rare to see on of this caliber being sold these are keepers and collectors collect them but besides that they are great vintage guitars the survivors that is...rare to see them so nice. yes it happens to be a Martin copy its close to the D45 these 3558s were made in small numbers made by Seisakshu Company in Japan between and made only from 1974-76. These were built to rival the top guitar builders in the world and make them as beautiful or more beautiful than the originals they copied. This Vintage Tama guitar plays absolutely great with nice and low finger action and the Tone from this rich sounding Tone woods now some 40 years after manufacture the woods have opened up well and are aged to perfection 40 years and has been well maintained and taken care of all these years In my opinion I don't think you can find a better guitar for 2 x the price and I would put the tone and play-ability of this guitar is right up with any high end guitar produced today. “Tama Classic and Dreadnought Guitar. The finest close grained solid spruce top bound with herringbone & binding detail front & back is simply gorgeous have a look at the pics. Hand-shaped solid high grade mahogany neck for professional performance. rich look in this case coral rosewood back and sides with beautiful binding. The bracing is masterfully hand shaped and sanded precisely for brilliant tone. Elegant, Chrome plated “Smooth Turner” are the famous STAR TUNERS machine head for precise tuning. This is one of the finer most accurately made to Martin specs to come out of Japan at this mid 1970s time frame known as the Golden era of the Lawsuit years... very well crafted by anyones standards this was the elite effort by perhaps the greatest Japanese guitar builder when you come down to it its Ibanez, They did it and did it well now fast forward to today some 40 years later wow to understand that at that time they used woods said to be aged 30 years for these instruments and that someone took such great care in keeping it in this kind of condition for 40 years so that you could have access to such a clean example and an absolutely beautiful and wonderful playing guitar... it pleases me to present this great offering. Its not new or mint its been played and has that natural patina only a real 40 year old instrument gets its overall just gorgeous as you can see but it has small superficial doinks very minor stuff so we can not call a clean guitar mint its been played and yet it is not worn out as its neck is excellent in that its angle is correct and solid and has never changed its string play action is perfect its low and has room to go either way to your taste but to mine its excellent right now... its fingerboard and frets show little wear some 90+% remains and good for another couple few decades. Its spruce top shows patina and is a big part of its beauty the color with its tortious pickguard & harringbone detail is what I like to see wow... see pics, there is one 4" hairline crack on its SOLID Spruce top it had been professionally repaired over 20 years ago and has not moved ever since and it effects nothing and is hard to see.. Its sound is very sweet good volume and is a real pleasure to play. This neck is a medium -slim C profile and it has the classic Martin style Diamond Volute on its back of headstock see pis, This beauty has the Rosewood fingerboard with the snow flake inlay detail its 1/3/4" at the nut and very comfortable to play, its truss rod is fully functional and has the Tama truss rod cover, The headstock Logo is the old sideways T then TAMA all inlayed into the wood with mother of pearl and is quite striking on the Martin style Lawsuit headstock just lovely, The main TONE woods of the guitars body is an exotic grade of Coral Rosewood likely Indian but a premium grade it provides excellent tone! the back body and back of neck appear to be near mint but do have tiny dinks preventing a mint grade its very good - excellent as from 2 feet away looks amazing!.... weight is 5.0 lbs and comes with a bone nut not sure about the saddle its the original and good so we left it like that ...this baby plays wonderfully and is recording worthy! Ready to tour or record tonight!

Lots of vintage guitar for a great price Its woods are as follows... Top is Spruce nice straight grained and may be solid cant see a seam it is what it is as made, the back and sides are all a fine instrument grade mahogany as is the neck a medium slim profile neck feels great , the headstock has the rosewood overlay with Fender logo in mother of pearl with gloss finish to front headstock as the body is gloss front - sides and back and the back of neck smartly in satin finish to not show finger prints easily..
Fit and finish is rated JVG at very good - excellent vintage easily Near Mint rating I'm still looking for a dink and cant find one yet, but thats not to say there may be something minute somewhere but I looked it over good and she qualifies for near mint rating vintage and is WAY BETTER than average. The fingerboard I believe is ebonized rosewood and shows no divots at all... same with frets I polished them pre set up and I can attest they are excellent too... Neck angle and action is very good straight and as a result the action is set to within Martin spec and plays excellently with no buzzing. Original tuners on board and are good quality and do the job well, intonation on this guitar is good so it sounds sweet up or down the fingerboard... surprisingly great tone for a guitar anywhere near this price point, You will be very pleased. Comes with its original semi hard chipboard case black good all latches and handle are good, Here is a great sounding and playing Vintage Korean guitar that will be sure to please. JVGuitars is very proud to present to you yet another wonderfully aged High end Law Suit guitars out of Japanese it is a hand crafted acoustic guitar built well almost 40 years ago, what many may not know is that Takamine on these high end exotic tone woods models were master built by using well aged tone woods of 25-30+ years of age at the time when built making this a true vintage guitar in its own right. This example has been very well maintained and taken care of as you will see, this is a California guitar and has not seen much of the ravages of extreme weather and other extreme changes that can damage 0 warp – dry our and Split – crack and otherwise severely damage a perfectly good instrument so this guitar shows no evidence of any of those common afflictions on the contrary this guitar is rather CLEAN over all,Its beautiful solid spruce top is pretty flat and its bridge is nice and tight as well and its bracing ( same as Martin D-28 ) is all good throughout so this guitar has good bones!, bindings too are all good, frets are good and we dressed and polished the frets and they are good for another 20+ years of play, its neck is excellent!..

Below is what Epiphone says about this great looking guitar.... but first here is what I have to say about this example we have taken in partial trade, Its used but very little no significant wear in any areas... with the exception of 1 ding on its top edge the upper treble bout and its not that easy to see and is insignificant and other than that doink its excellent+! Now the great thing about this guitar is that I set it up and it plays great!!! Talk about Easy play the action is great and as a resuly it plays like butter now... not so from factory often this set up is all important and often neglected... that being said this guitars neck angle is excellent and as a result of that the saddle is tall and has much room to lower in the future if ever needed a real plus... where this Epi has it goin on is its great playability that make it fun to play and excellent for a beginner or intermediate level player looking for something nice which this example is and for a great price too..

Here is s very nice 1976 Takamine F375s from the laswsuit era with the Headstock shape and logo style font replica of a Martin D-35 Exotic Brazilian rosewood guitar from 1962, An amazing likeness in looks obviously and she sounds sooooo sweet the 40+ years since she was built back in 1976 at the time of this build it has been said that Takamine had used aged woods of at least 20 years aging prior to its construction... this guitar has been extremely well cared for and it has barely a few scratches that will be sort of hard to find, the structural integrity of this guitar is excellent its neck set is excellent as is its action is low and as a result this guitar plays amazingly with no buzz smooth action and a pleasure to play. Frets have been lightly dressed and are nice too. Neck width is 1-11/16ths at the nut with a medium profile it feels like an old Martin to just perfect. It has been set up with a Martin bone nut & saddles set as well as new Martin 80/20 strings set she sings loud and sweet a pleasure to play with rich encouraging tone.
This guitar is straight as can be with no cracks or separation on its body or neck with the only exception being its Solid Sitka Spruce top has 2 fine hairline cracks in the top and they do not go threw to the back side and are insignificant and have been properly sealed and buffed and you can not see them until the closest inspection, they are not progressing and have been stabilized professionally years ago. Other that the hairlines you cant see its near mint otherwise overall condition give this a very good to -excellent vintage used condition rating and a great choice fot the lover of these great exotic Brazilian Rosewood guitars, Japan does offer these Exotic Jacaranda Brazilian rosewood bodied guitars today but note they do not come with the OLD school Martin Headstocks or the old style Script logo they have the modern headstock Takamine design and logo oh ya a $4500-6000 price tag as well. You will find that this beautiful Rare guitar is a Bargain priced gem and should be played tonight as it is Ready to tour or Record tonight! .

SOLD OUT ...Here is yet another GREAT Sounding and PLAYING Nippon Gakki 000 Red Label made in the famous Nippon Gakki plant in Japan. Absolutely surprising Booming tone from a small package who would have guessed these sound so great...
This one is in excellent vintage condition that is to say all the important structural components of this guitar are in good shape that is to say that this guitar has GOOD BONES…. NO CRACKs its neck angle alignment is still good to this day its top is for the most part flat and its Bridge is nice and tight to its top … it appears to be a solid two piece center seam Sitka Spruce top and its cross braced like an old Martin , This guitar is over 40+++ years old and has been played and is not mint of course it has its share of superficial dings and drinks but nothing that can deter its ability to play great and sound great and look Fantastic with its Vintage Amber top and lush PATINA its a classic 000 that has THE SOUND!…. When we received it I loved the sound immediately it was pretty deep and rich sounding for such a small guitar with old cruddy strings I was thinking but like many of these Old Yamaha’s the action was too high so I did have to do our full JVGuitars UPGRADE set-up to it so I stripped its old strings off..its cheap plastic nut & saddle and bridge pins tossed to garbage, its fingerboard was remarkably clean and rut free and the pearloid inlays look great vivid with that patina of 40+ years and the frets were not bad with just minimal groves so I adjusted true rod -leveled -dressed & polished the frets, cleaned fingerboard and Lemon oiled the rosewood fingerboard and the bridge which is crack free as well.. all is looking and feeling great now..
Then using hyde glue installed a Martin Bon nut and a compensated bone saddle was fit
following up with a quality set of fancy Rosewood bridge pins with Abalone and brass ring
they fit sung for optimum tone resonance transfer. This has made a markable improvement in
its resonance and its a bit louder now too SWEET sounding now!
When we got this one it has a small chip at sound hole just under the fat bass E string
looks like an aggressive finger style did the damage and was at the sound hole edge
and I have successfully repaired this same sort of spot before so I wasn’t worried
this one was nick named “Chip" for this reason
I since repaired the spot using the professional woodworking Mohawk system of melting in a resin bar with jot knife that was spruce color then graining the repair and top coating brush tip matching lacquer to the repair spot area to blend…. its not really noticeable anymore now and is a non issue. I did notice that someone changed the tuners for other old Yamaha FG tuners tiny holes didn't line up but this makes no difference in performance what so ever and is not even noticeable they are Yamaha tuners. Overall structurally this guitar is still in top condition players
and it really has that beautiful vintage 40+++ year old Martin like Patina aura about it.... i
its VINTAGE PATINA and character is absolutely beautiful
this is in the eye of the beholder of course but if your vintage lover
you’ll appreciate this instrument for what she is.
This Old guitar plays like a $ MUCH more expensive guitar any day...
People of all walks of life worldwide on the net are comparing the sound of theirs to a Martin
it take years for a guitar’s tone to naturally open up like this guitar has
set up and plays and sounds amazing
and the price is right

Here we have a great mid - late 1970’s Alvarez 5047 model its kind of rare and seldom seen and she is a wonderful example of Japan’s answer to the Martin 00028 with the Herringbone rosette and rosewood body and in this case they used a wonderfully high grade beautifully grained rosewood for its body back and sides and fingerboard and bridge at that it looks to be a rich looking Jacaranda Brazilian rosewood type you can be the judge of that just have a good look at our pictures, at any rate its workmanship is excellent as is its fit and finish work is all of a high grade. Well balanced sound board with good volume and a sweet tone with its gorgeously straight grained solid spruce top is beautiful and easy on the eyes as well and up close you can tell its genuine vintage with its thin skin finish its grain highs and lows are visible the Japanese truly were masters - experts at thin poly finish and this one has it. This is the famous S.L.M. model it was imported by Saint Lewis Music back in the Lawsuit era days the 1970's these were made especially nice for SLM as seen here. Bindings all round are excellent overall condition is JVGuitars rated at very good its not new of course its over 40 years old it has only minimal insignificant scratches or doinks true vintage in its own right yet - excellent used vintage and is considered above average for a played 40+ year old instrument. No cracks no buldges or warpage anywhere this guitar is straight no repairs and all original and was excellent when we took this in on trade. We simply cleaned - oiled and polished the entire guitar and it has a good set of Martin 80/20 phosphorous bronze strings set of 12’s… this guitar plays very well now with excellent string action, its neck is a really great one RARE for the Japanese with its more meaty V profile much like the old Martin.
Condition, condition, condition, Easy on the eyes and that vintage tone and fun to play are 6 darn good reasons to own this ALVAREZ 5047 Japanese Vintage 0029 with that gorgeous rosewood…

Here just in is a well crafted Japanese made Orville by Gibson J200 this is not a Gibson but is a copy of the Gibby by Orville Japan... So this would have been a sanctioned build and not the Lawsuit setting them apart from other makers like Alvarez and Ibanez and Aria and a few others in fact Orville is Mr. Gibson's first name Orville Gibson so This is NOT a Gibson but a very professionally built version of the J200 its an excellent copy Beautifully crafted workmanship and amazing woods... must see... previous owner love this one so much they also had it professionally customized with its Grovers and logo in MOP... plays absolutely excellent with its low easy to play string action, and notice its old Gibson correct bridge with the ABR-1 type adjustable bridge for precise intonation adjustments over the 60's Gibson correct nylon saddles... nice touch... Its spruce top is really nicely grained and figured with beautiful Patina of the real vintage gibby.
Super nice !.... Beautiful Patina exceptional Booming sound much like the old Martin 000 or old Gibson for that matter for a fraction $ and this ONE is a really good one folks. These are a well kept secret sort of ... known for their GREAT rich mature sound. This example is in fine all-round Original condition without any of the over 60 group problematic issues- none found anywhere upon close examination, no NONE nada -- neck issues -frets ARE good - tuners ARE good - bridge IS good - Solid Top is without a crack it s wood is FREE of cracks, Back is OK no buckle rash , no buldge to its Spruce top, The bridge is tight and NEW MARTIN STRINGS and just JVGuitars Set up this baby plays and sounds amazing at this price point unbelievable! Made in Japan quality with a beautifully grained high grade Mahogany medium soft V NECK feels like an old Martin too ....looks at the neck grain they used a beautiful Honduran mahogany not African or other this one is cool See the Pics of that ...its original Tortious pickguard is nice too..... nearly 40 years old its amazing but she's not new or mint of course she has a few minor doinks and plenty of that natural vintage patina and such but overall she's JVG condition rated at vintage excellent used condition rated. She Plays with easily and will bring a warm smile to your face when playing GREAT TONE fingerpicking rich and punchy its a very fun guitar to play... she's over 45 years old and in this kind of condition..... you better snap this gem up before she's gone
or I change my mine and keep her for myself...haha this is my business I need to sell but you get my point
its a good one folks. This is one amongst several of the FG150's Red Label Nippon Gakki's we have and I call it ( # 3 )

JUST SOLD: Here is a fresh release from the JVGuitars vintage vault, This is a 34 year old well built from the Martin Marlboro promotions from the 70's - 80's and is a Beauty...
Beautiful woods on this one, Its top is SOLID Sitka Spruce its gorgeously figured with bear claw figure, its neck is Mahogany its fretboard is Rosewood as is its gorgeous Bridge and body back & sides.
Just JVG set up with LOW beautiful playing action we installed the Martin Bone nut and compensated Bone saddle with new set of Martin Strings 80/20 Phosphorus Bronze 12's for great tone response then the beautiful Bridge Pins made of solid ebony and Abalone inlay with brass ring detail simply Stunning...
The bone nut saddle and pins and strings make this sustain sing. This guitar is in excellent vintage condition as stated the action is excellent and frets look excellent as well, Grover tuners keep this baby tuned well... The necks Headstock has the classic Martin style Abalone Torch inlay and matching bridge motief. Its neck is excellent with its 1-11/motif Bone nut a nice comfortable medium c profile. This guitar is not new of course it has its share of tiny insignificant dings and scratches or nicks associated with a vintage played guitar however non of that can detract from its undeniable beauty to this day.
All binding is excellent. Playing is enjoyable as it sounds very nice and it plays so easily.. Not a crack anywhere, top is nice and flat, bridge is tight to its top, all bracing is excellent as well... an excellent beautiful vintage guitar in its own right for a song!

1970s Alvarez J200 style 5055 flamed maple tuneful beauty
JVGuitars is happy to present to you a fine Classic by Alvarez made in Japan
of course this is a “Lawsuit “ era pretty much exact copy of the very famously sought after classic design by Gibson the J200 made famous by so many artists perhaps most famously Elvis Presley from back in the late 1950s. The classic jumbo is know for its big volume and good well balanced tone and this beauty by Alvarez captures the true essence of all that tone and coolness in an affordable package the average player can live with… this Alvarez is a recent trade in on another guitar from its original owner and has been well taken care of all these years its a good player and action is good with more room on its saddle to lower if the new owner should wish to set it up that way as it is now it rings clear and sweet I noticed the previous owner had a bone nut and compensated saddle installed so we did not have to set it up as it but we
did add the SOLID BONE Bridge pins with Abalone and brass detail for improved sustain and resonance over the cheap plastic pins…was previously done so if new owner like action higher or lower you can do so yourself or have it done. This beauty neck is 3 piece solid figured maple and is a 1-11/16ths at the bone nut and has a nice medium profile C shape for a Gibby like feel too…. Just Check oyt those inlays that KILLER Flamed Maple wow truly striking and will give the Original J200 a run for the money in the Beauty department just have a look WoW!
This guitar has this interesting and very cool looking bindings very classic looking I think its a stand out with that checkerboard binding just to cool looking with all its vintage patina finish. The bridge is nice and tons of meat on it as years down the road plenty of room to avoid a neck reset by shaving that bridge down .. thats a good thing and its tight to its top and is crack free so its excellent, the solid Spruce top has plenty of natural character and a few spots where I see old what appears to be a few short finish cracks on its top I checked and they do not go threw so I believe its only finish checks and previous owner said they appeared there after moving from Indiana to California some 20+ years ago and have not changed at all since then again they do not go threw so just a miner insignificant cosmetic.
Of course this vintage guitar is not new or mint as you can clearly see she has that sought after vintage character and patin a vintage guitar lover wants and its share of mostly minor insignificant impressions , dings and such but nothing thats bad in my opinion you judge for yourself not structurally an issue just as stated insignificant signs of playing and natural wear and doinks of a 40 year old well played and loved instrument would have all that being said its in very good overall vintage condition with another 40 years left in her with average care and maintenance. Lots of BANG for the BUCK in the J200 world…. Pretty cool really gotta love the Old Alvarez for what they truly are and that is a well crafted guitar made from good timbers and workmanship and fit and finish are simply hard to beat. Plays well and sound is competitive with the one’s that have copied so many years ago a true vintage guitar in its own right these old Japanese J200’s are todays affordable vintage collectible and are fun to play too… sure to go up $$ in the coming years.
